Extensive Inventory

We represent only the best manufacturers of hardwood lumber in the country. In our Dallas and Oklahoma City warehouses, Central Hardwoods maintains one of the largest, most diversified inventories in the Southwest. Not only do we carry more than 40 species of hardwood lumber and plywood, we also stock a variety of specialty items, such as hardwood mouldings, adhesives, and veneers. Currently, we maintain an inventory of two million board feet of industrial particleboard, fibreboard, and top coated paper and melamine products.

Central Hardwoods inventories only upper grade hardwoods, which are selected by our highly trained experts according to grain and color characteristics. In addition, our enterprising buyers are constantly on the lookout for such hard-to-find items as Wormy Chestnut, Pearwood, and Makore. We seek out Cypress, Pine, Birch, and Oak sawn from ancient “sinker” logs pulled from rivers and lakes in Florida, Louisiana, and the Great Lakes region.

This depth and breadth of inventory is the result of long-standing relationships with select sawmills and manufacturers throughout the world, particularly in North America, Central America and South America. While some of our trusted vendors date back to our company’s inception in 1946, we are always alert to new opportunities that will benefit our customers.

Custom Millwork

Customers have learned to rely on Central Hardwoods’ experience and knowledge of unique wood products and applications. Custom designs and specifications are handled by well-trained, experienced salespeople. An original profile is scanned into a CAD system and sent electronically to an architect or customer for approval. Once approved, the design is downloaded into a machining center where an exact template is created. From this the moulder tooling is made by hand. This process allows moulding profiles to be exact duplicates of the original drawings.

Flexibility

Central Hardwoods welcomes the opportunity to work with our customers on special order projects. We have the ability to manufacture or to source hard-to-find architectural products such as veneered panels, fully machined components, cut-to-size items, radius mouldings, and custom stair parts.

Following substantial upgrading of our facilities, Central Hardwoods offers expanded custom milling capabilities. Our rough mill capabilities range from surfacing to straight line, and gang ripping to re-sawing. Our moulding plants offer the finest in German, Italian and American technology. Our capabilities allow us to produce any profile – from the most complicated, multi-part custom crown moulding to the simplest cabinet facing.

Inspection for Accuracy and Quality Control

We are capable of manufacturing any moulding profile an architect can design. Central Hardwoods enforces strict grading procedures for all lumber products. Experienced inspectors grade lumber according to NHLA grade rules, thus ensuring that products meet or exceed the standards of a particular grade. Our policy is to ship all hardwood lumber orders on an accurate net tally basis to ensure that each customer receives the exact quantity and grade that was ordered. Always seeking new ways to contribute to customer satisfaction, we have added a new grading chain which increases our efficiency and quality control.

Timely Delivery

Realizing that prompt delivery and dependability of service is an essential part of a successful customer relationship, Central Hardwoods places great importance on the coordination of the sale, from product order through its delivery to the customer. Our flexible delivery scheduling enables customers to plan for receipt of their merchandise well in advance. A highly sophisticated computerized tracking system allows us to know our trucks' locations at all times, in real time.

The quality of our products meets or exceeds agency standards, such as The National Hardwood Lumber Association and Hardwood Plywood Veneer Association.
