Preparation and Application Advice for
SPH-4
- Prepare the surfaces to be coated.
Keeping the surfaces free of loose dirt and grease will help
assure a permanent, water-resistant bond.
- Maintain a constant speed of application
as you pass the spray over the surface. A light but thorough
coating provides the best bonding. Do not apply adhesive
heavily enough to allow it to puddle or spray too closely and
"wet" the surface. Eighty to 100 percent coverage
is desirable to achieve maximum bonding strength.
- Maintain a constant distance of eight to
12 inches from the surface while spraying. Allow the spray
to web across the surface while having one inch or less overlap
with each pass.
- Maintain a constant right angle (90 degrees).
While spraying, aim the spray gun perpendicular to the surface
being coated. Do not arc of tilt the spray angle as you
reach the end of a pass, as this will reduce the amount of adhesive
applied.
