Cabinet and fixture manufacturers, sash and door houses, picture frame and novelty item industries all find that our fine West Coast lumber products meet their requirements for availability and flexibility. A wide assortment of widths and thicknesses is stocked and ready for immediate delivery. These softwoods, available in-the-rough or milled to customer specifications, are specified by architects and contractors for extensive use in restaurants, shopping malls, retail stores, and churches.

Aromatic Cedar

Character: The spicy cedar-like aroma makes this specie widely recognized and used frequently in cedar chests and closets.

Color: White to cream colored sapwood with light brown to red heartwood.

Douglas Fir, Vertical Grain

Character: This hard-to-find item is produced by quarter sawing the log, thereby producing a narrow and consistent edge grain.  This is an excellent material for general millwork use because of its stability, beautiful color, and acceptance of both paint and stain finishes.

On occasion, we are fortunate to be able to locate a quantity of "old growth" fir, some of which has been re-manufactured from large timbers which were used in the construction of bridges and commercial buildings in the 19th and early 20th century.

Eastern White Pine, K.D.

Character: Considered a very stable wood, Eastern White Pine has a comparatively uniform texture and straight grain.

Color: Heartwood is light brown, often with a reddish tinge.

Character: Often called "White Pine" though botanically it belongs to the Yellow Pine group.   Probably the most widely used wood for general woodworking.  Large quantities used in cabinetry, millwork, sash, doors, and mouldings.

Color: White to pale yellow
